Privacy Policy

This page explains what information TopMineServers collects and why, in plain language.

What we collect

If you create an account: your username, email address and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text). If you vote or leave a review: your Minecraft username, your IP address (used only to enforce the one-vote-per-24-hours limit and to prevent abuse), and your rating/comment. If you list a server: the details you provide about that server (name, IP, description, images, links).

What we don't do

We don't sell your personal data. We don't run third-party ad-tracking or analytics cookies. We don't share your email address with server owners or other users.

Cookies and local storage

We use one functional session cookie to keep you logged in and to protect forms against cross-site request forgery — it's required for the Site to work and contains no tracking data. We also use your browser's sessionStorage (not a cookie, and never sent to our server) to remember your light/dark theme choice for the current browser tab. There is no cookie consent banner because we don't use any non-essential, tracking, or advertising cookies — there's nothing optional to opt in or out of.

Third-party services

If enabled by the site admin, the vote form may use Google reCAPTCHA to block automated bots — this sends limited technical data to Google under its own privacy policy. Password-reset and notification emails are sent via our own SMTP provider, only to the email address on your account.

Data retention

Account data is kept while your account is active. Vote and review records are kept to maintain accurate rankings and history. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time via the contact details below.

Children's privacy

The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy as the Site evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
